About the Swedish Association of Midwives

The Swedish Association of Midwives was founded in 1886 and has today more then 6300 members (app. 6200 midwives work in clinical practice in Sweden). The association works independently and actively to develop the professional midwifery skills, promote Women’s reproductive and sexual health as well as enhance better reproductive and perinatal care.
